Chinese Lunar Calendar

If you want to attempt to predict the gender of your baby, the Chinese lunar calendar may be the answer for you. This calendar is a system designed by a Chinese scientist over seven hundred years ago that compares the age of a woman and the time of her conception to the gender of the baby that she will have, in conjunction with the date tracking Chinese lunar calendar. The Chinese view this method as ninety-nine percent accurate, and is used to try to birth the gender of the child they desire.

The Chinese lunar calendar has two parts. The first part is a standard date calendar that is based off of the cycles of the moon and sun. This is the base for Chinese horoscopes. While it is no longer used for daily activities, the calendar is still used to track important Chinese holidays, as well as determine the phases of the moon.

The second part of the Chinese lunar calendar is what is used to track the gender of unborn children. Through calculation of moon phases and the age of the woman, the calendar is supposed to be able to chart gender. These calendars tend to be tables listed by age and month. The youngest the standard calendar will track is for women of age 18, and the oldest it will track for is women of age 45. This is due to the age of the system, as it was created so long ago.

When you are planning on having a baby, you can try to time conception by the Chinese lunar calendar in hopes of having a child of the gender you want. However, this is not a proven science, and is only suggested to be used as a general guideline in attempting to control the gender of the child. There is currently no 100% accurate method of controlling the gender of an unborn child.

The Chinese lunar calendar is thought to have been in use for five thousand years, with archaeological evidence proving that it has existed for at least three and a half thousand years. This makes it one of the oldest calendars known, rivaled only by the Mayan calendar and other similar calendars of ancient heritage. As the Chinese calendar is based off of the direct phases of the sun and moon, it Is considered fairly accurate. Like many older calendars, intercalary months were utilized in various stages of the calendar's use.

The Chinese lunar calendar went out of use for standard date keeping in 1912, where it was replaced by the Gregorian calendar for official business. However, the Gregorian calendar did not come into full use until 1929, after the Nationalist government took over command of all of China.
